Sinbad, Marsai Martin, George Clinton and Mick Fleetwood “funkumentary” THIS IS LOVE to make Educational and Institutional debut at Liberty Hall, 1/15/20.

[Los Angeles CA] – Having swept the international film festival circuit, winning the Spirit Award at Raindance in London and Best International Documentary in Rome, THIS IS LOVE continues to break film festival records. THIS IS LOVE announces its Educational and Institutional release debut, presented by The Kansas Music Hall of Fame on January 15th 2020 at Liberty Hall, Lawrence KS. Tickets are available at The Liberty Hall Box Office, and LibertyHall.net
Rudy Love is a name you may not know (2011 KSMHoF Inductee), but a voice who has been influencing you whether you know it or not. Echoing the rhythms and heart of an unsung music hero, THIS IS LOVE is a funky and soulful portrait of a legendary artist who turned down fame to make music with his family in Wichita, KS. The documentary, executive produced by Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), who also co-stars, features appearances from comedians Sinbad and Michael Colyar, the king of funk George Clinton (Parliament-Funkadelic), and Hollywood prodigy Marsai Martin (Black-ish). Teeming with social issues of racism and record industry corruption, Rudy Love’s story encapsulates a quintessential struggle of African American artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, and strives to shine light on a historically underrepresented intersection of communities. The film, directed by John Alexander, is produced by Robert Love and JC Guest. Emily Bonavia, Ann Garvey, Susan Houston, and Billboard Award winner Shawn Rhodes are also executive producing.
